About our classes

Here you’ll find more information about each of our classes and what each class offers

Child – Group

Our child group lessons run weekly in conjunction with the school term. The lessons are 30 minutes and consist of small class sizes (maximum of 5 in a group), with a teacher in the water, giving your child more attention, feedback and swim time.

Lessons are carried out in warm, private and peaceful swimming pools, away from the many distractions of public pools.

Upon enrolment, every child is assessed and grouped accordingly. This ensures that swimmers are learning alongside other swimmers of similar ability.

We follow the Swim England framework, and all our instructors are fully qualified and experienced ASA swimming teachers who undergo regular in-house training to teach the Russell way.

Child – 1 to 1

1-2-1 lessons are an excellent way to accelerate your child’s learning as your child will receive the teacher’s undivided attention for the full 30 minutes.

People take advantage of 1-2-1 lessons for many different reasons, such as:

  • Your child is a nervous swimmer and is struggling to integrate into a group lesson, and needs more individual attention
  • Your child is struggling with a specific skill or technique and wants to overcome an obstacle or difficulty
  • You are keen to give your child a head start

Our child 1-2-1s lessons follow the same learning pathway as our group sessions. 1-2-1s are dedicated, private sessions, tailored to your child’s individual needs. Your child benefits from the close and focused attention of the instructor, which creates an ideal learning environment. This ensures quicker progression and maximum attention.

We also offer 2-2-1 lessons. These are ideal for siblings or friends to learn together in a private lesson.
